Idea 1: Zombie Survival

An often seen game concept, an unknown virus appeared that infect lives and transfer them to a zombie, attacks other survivors. Creatures that turned into a zombie seems got the same instruction from someone, they work together and attack humans.

In this game, the player will become a zombie. Human AI will walk in some areas of the game world and shoot zombies with a gun, zombie(the player) will need to use skill to attack human AI to gain points for upgrade skills or fixed building.


Zombie(the player):

  • Player zombie will need to collect items from the game world to gain the power-up(can be stack).
    • The Barrel - Mysterious liquid in a barrel, it makes you feel good to drink. Your Speed* point is increased.
    • Medical Airdrop - Drugs from humans, inject into yourself, gain resistance to the drug. Your Defence* point is increased.
    • Lost Leg Bone - A handy leg bone from a human, nice to use as a weapon. Your Attack* point is increased.
    • ...
  • Player will need to attack humans or other live creatures for bloody flesh to upgrade skills or building.
    • Skills will be something like throwable items that have cooldowns to use to attack humans.
      • Tasty Blood(passive) - You will heal yourself by killed a life(heal amount depends on the type of life killed).
      • Slow Recovery(passive) - You will slow heal yourself when not taking hits by a few seconds(will not heal shield from Flesh Blob).
      • Speedup(active) - You will gain fast speed for a short time, the effect will be slow down everything other than you.
      • Flesh Grenade(active) - The human who got hit will mark for all zombies, it will take extra damage when getting hit.
      • Zombie Party(active) - Summon all zombies of a large area around you to you, if they are close enough to an attackable target, they will fight for you.
      • ...
    • The buildings will spawn different AI zombie creatures depends on the type of the building, then they will walk around and find humans to attack.
      • The Heart - heart of your base, protect it from humans(lose the game if got destroyed), respawn player zombie when the player died(lose all power-up items when died).
      • Flesh Blob - Player zombie will recover health points inside of it, the extra level will give you an extra shield that only can be recovered from Flesh Blob.
      • The Room - Spawn AI zombie over time that random walk to a place and guard.
      • ...
  • Player zombie will gain night vision at night time, night is the best time to hunt humans because humans will be got a low field of view at night time.

Humans(and other live creatures):

  • Humans will all live around campus, the campus will spawn humans over time(it goes faster and faster as time pass).
  • Humans will send a group of people to your base to destroy The Heart.
  • Humans will try to walk to airdrop outside of campus, if they got the airdrop, the human team will level up to have extra equipment.
    • Gun Crates - Will level up from: Pistal -> Sub-machine Gun -> Shot Gun -> Flame Thrower -> Semi-Rifle -> Automatic Rifle -> Sniper Rifle
    • Armour Crates - 5 levels of armour make humans harder to kill.
    • Medical  Crates - Increase the level of humans' speed(level 1 to 5).


Game goal:

  • The game won when zombies destroyed the human campus.
  • The game loses when AI humans destroyed your base.



Idea 2: Survivor on Island

Just like the game name "Survivor on Island", you will become to the island.

You are an island on the far sea, a group of people was shipwrecked and end up landed on you. You will need to control all kinds of resources and environments around you to keep that group of people stay alive.

The number of people who lives on the island will increase over time, people will create tools and buildings to gather items and foods to stay alive.


Island(the player):

  • The player will gain ability points every day, it is used to spawn resources inside and around the island, which include summoning trees, animals or other natural items for AI survivors to collect and survive.
    • Make fruit grow again on bushes
    • Make trees grow up
    • Spawn animals
    • Spawn rocks, ores
    • Spawn rain(water) on some fixed area
    • Random barrel float to the beach
    • Add the possibility of specific action on AI survivors side
    • ...
  • The player can create a negative impact on AI survivors on the island to gain instant ability points:
    • Storm weather
    • Wildfire
    • Danger animals
    • Toke away caught preys from the trap
    • Drop the possibility of specific action on AI survivors side
    • ...


Game goal:

  • The game won when AI survivors gathered enough material from the island to build a boat to escape.
  • The game loses when all AI survivors have died.


To be determined:

  • Volcanic eruptions will happen after the game start n days to make the mission fail if this action happened.
    • Volcanic eruptions can be delayed by spending a lot of instant points.



General

With the theme of Unexpectedly Opposite, both ideas are about switching player perspectives(opposite perspective) with common game concepts on the market.

Different from other common game concept play processes, while preserving the development direction of the story of common game types, change the player’s position to an uncommon position. For example, an often seen story is that the player needs to defeat a final boss to finish the level or game, but now if you are asked to play as the final boss and needs to defeat the hero of the game world to conquer the world, this will give players a strong sense of freshness to this game.

The game is targeting the audience that is already interested in the original theme of this game, also it is interesting enough to attract new audiences to try this game generated from the existed concept.
