Concept Statement

A small farm managed by two sisters of wolf girl. They are descendant of goddess of the harvest, but they never blessed by anyone...

Keep the farm runs, sell products from farm to villagers or traders from other towns. Find and collect rare crop seeds to make more profit.

Genre of the game

The <Waned Blesses> is a fast-paced casual, farm simulation, role-playing game based on single-player or local multi-player.

<Waned Blesses> is happened in a natural environment, the farm is located in the place that surrounds by forest and next to a port. The play style of <Waned Blesses> is peaceful and restful, the player will be in this kind of farm to grow crops use bare hands with tools, then sell products to the trader sailed to port from other towns.

Concept creation process

The creation idea of <Waned Blesses> are from following concepts:

Harvest Moon(Story of Seasons)

<Harvest Moon> is a farm, life simulation and role-playing game that player manages a farm in a small town, the main goal of the player is to take care crops, animals, make relationships and stories with townspeople.

<Waned Blesses> will inherit the play style of the farming element from <Harvest Moon>, but rather than long time growing period of time(20~30 minutes real-life) each crop like <Harvest Moon>, <Waned Blesses> will make crops faster grow speed, different requirements of every single crop, this could make player do more on growing crops without worrying story line or other limitation.

Overcooked

<Overcooked> is a fast-paced cook simulation single or multiplayer game. Players will cooperation together to make dishes as a chef within a limited time inside(or outside!)  of a kitchen that filled with full of various obstacles and hazards.

In the single-player mode of  <Overcooked>, the player could control two chefs a time, this makes <Overcooked> less monotonicity when you play with yourself.

<Waned Blesses> will referring<Overcooked>'s game process style, player will transport and operates tools and items to reach some kind of goal with nonstop as main gameplay, makes <Waned Blesses> even plant crops without just stand and wait for it to grow.

 <Waned Blesses> will also reference the single player idea from <Overcooked> to create a similar game background story that the farm is run by two characters, both characters will need to swap to work all times 24 hours in-game time, both of characters will have unique states and skills selected before the game starts, this could make <Waned Blesses> have different approach each round of the game.

Spice and Wolf

<Spice and Wolf> is a light novel about the wolf-deity Holo, the goddess of the harvest, the stories between her and the traveling merchant Lawrence travel together between towns with their own goals.

<Waned Blesses> will inherit a part of the world structure setting from <Spice and Wolf>, uses the background story about goddess of the harvest to solve the reason for the unexplained growth speed. <Waned Blesses> will also add the unpredictable trading system similar to the stories from <Spice and Wolf> to make selling products will not only have beneficial influences.

Audience and competitive

This casual game if facing and compatible with all age and different skill levels of players. Especially people who like to grow plants, sell and trade products, plan workflow, collect different rarity of items.

But you said you never played a video game before? No problem! <Waned Blesses> is all just about taking care of your plants, then enjoy the sense of accomplishment when it's time to harvest.

<Waned Blesses> comes with a customizable difficulty level setting, no matter if you just play it as take a break from a busy day, or you like to hit your personal limit of a game.

It is suitable to play with your friend at a party, the game is fast-paced and you will have enough time to introduce the most feature in <Waned Blesses> to your friend. Limit time but unlimited fun.

Different than other farming game, <Waned Blesses> will more focus on crops growth state, compared to other game that has farming element like <Harvest Moon>, <Waned Blesses>'s farming system will simulate the crops grow requirements similar to real life.

Each crop in <Waned Blesses> will have different growing requirements such as ground type, water level, season limitation. After planting the seeds, crops will start to grow through few stages, in each stage, the player will be required to do different operates with tools or items to keep crops continual grow.

<Waned Blesses> will also implement a special trading element that the price you sell your product will change dynamically during a different time, it will be much different than traditional game trading that just throws items to NPCs with a preset purchase price that make you always profitable.

Game Treatment

Background Story

The story starts at the age that historical with European influences.  Goddess of the harvest, the title only can hear from small villages sitting at the edge of kingdom border. In the legend stories, wolf-deity that blesses harvest will appear every autumn as the human form. But, as the church's majesty in today's society has grown, people in areas that believed in animals as the incarnation of gods such as foxes, wolves, snakes and monkeys were classified as pagans and they were persecuted by church personnel from large cities.

Our protagonist sisters are the descendant of the god of the harvest. They are in order to avoid the persecution of the church, living at a farm next to a village so-called "infidels". They also work hard for life, hoping to leave here one day and take a look at the vastness of the world.

And you, will lead these two wolf girl sisters, take good care of them, their stories will be starts written by you.

Game Style

The target of general art for <Waned Blesses> will be simple color 2D pixel style that similar to <Forager>. <Waned Blesses> will be the same way as<Forager> to control character to interactive items and tools.

Game Features

  • Time/Season/Weather System

In <Waned Blesses>, each in-game time will be 6 minutes(to be determined) real-time, each game season will be having 30 days(Spring), 29 days(Summer), 30 days(Autumn) and 31 days(Winter) as one year.

With different seasons, there will be different seeds for sale from villagers, and each crop will having different seasons required to grow. If this requirement is not meet, crops will stop grow.

Weather will be random happened between rainy and sunny(snow instead of rain in winter). Rain will increase soil water level and decrease soil softness state.

  • Growing Mechanism

In <Waned Blesses>, to make crops grow with the highest rate of efficient, the player will maintain each crop state on a certain required level with hoe and water can. If one or more states that are not suitable for that crop to grow, it will stop increase the growing state but still costing its lifetime, the crop will end up withered with nothing left.

To increase the water level, the player will need to water the crop with water can, water state will decrease by time(increase at rainy weather).

To increase the soil softness, the player will need to hoe the soil with hoe, walk on the soil(crop) will decrease the softness state. (Hoe will also use to turn grass ground to soil)

  • Trading System

Each day in <Waned Blesses>, one of the villager will bring some items to player's farm to sell, and he also post a few items that like to buy(note that price are always different).

Every 3 in-game days(29~31 days for each season) the trader from other towns will arrive to the island at the middle of the map for 1 day and night. During this time, player will able to go and purchase items that villagers normally not have.
